Ryan currently handles all aspects of civil litigation at the Buzbee Law firm, including personal injury, wrongful death, eighteen wheeler accidents, commercial litigation disputes and maritime cases. Ryan received the honorable distinction of Super Lawyers' Texas Rising Star Award for 2018. This distinction is received by less than 2.5% of the attorneys in Texas.
Most notable is Ryan's work on a Jones Act case involving the death of a seaman. Ryan, along with Tony Buzbee, successfully proved a brown-recluse spider bite caused a MRSA infection which led to liver failure and ultimately the death of the seaman. The jury returned a $42 million verdict which is the largest Jones Act maintenance and cure verdict ever recorded in the United States.
During his tenure at the Buzbee Law Firm, Ryan has worked on multiple trials resulting in multi-million dollar verdicts for the firm's clients. Ryan served on a landmark $159 million verdict workplace injury case. Other cases Ryan has served on include a commercial litigation case resulting in a $54 million verdict, a commercial litigation case resulting in a $29.8 million verdict, and an insurance dispute resulting in a $10.8 million verdict. In total, Ryan has served on five nationally recognized Top 100 verdicts in the United States in less than three years.
