Leah Fiedler was born and raised in Austin, Texas, and attended Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. After obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, Leah joined Teach For America, a national corps of leaders committed to teaching in low-income schools and strengthening the movement for educational equity. For two years, Leah taught first grade and Kindergarten ESL students at a Title 1 school in Houston ISD.
After teaching, Leah attended the University of Houston Law Center, obtaining a Juris Doctorate degree. During law school, Leah worked for the Honorable Sylvia Matthews of the 281st Civil District Court, was a Summer Associate at a prominent litigation firm, and completed multiple internships with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office. Leah was a member of the Interscholastic Mock Trial and Moot Court teams, competing in many regional and national tournaments. Further, Leah served as an editor of the Houston Business & Tax Law Journal.
Upon graduation, Leah was inducted into the Order of the Barristers, a highly selective honor society recognizing excellence in advocacy.
Before joining the Buzbee Law Firm, Leah worked as an Assistant District Attorney with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, trying numerous misdemeanor and felony jury trials, as well as training and supervising new prosecutors in trial.
Outside of work, Leah is committed to serving in her church and with anti-human trafficking organizations, and is also very passionate about cooking and hospitality.
Leah is licensed in Texas.
