Civic & Community Involvement

There is more to life than just practicing law. Indeed, to be a good advocate, an attorney must be involved in the community. Tony Buzbee and the attorneys at the Buzbee Law Firm take pride in their community involvement. Tony Buzbee is a former Marine who served his country in the Persian Gulf and Somalia as an infantry and special forces officer. Mr. Buzbee currently serves on the Board of Directors of Hometown Bank, which has branches across Galveston and Brazoria Counties. Buzbee also serves on the board of The Jesse Tree, a nonprofit organization that assists the homeless and those in need in Galveston and Brazoria counties. Buzbee serves on the Board of Visitors of Texas A&M Galveston, and has also served as a Director of the Houston Law Alumni Foundation. Mr. Buzbee is also past Chairman of the Galveston County Democratic Party, and is intimately involved in politics both statewide, and nationwide.

Mr. Buzbee is also President of Buzbee Properties, Inc., a property development and management company that owns properties across the State of Texas and Louisiana, and has been recognized in its efforts to revitalize historic, downtown Friendswood.

Peter Taaffe has been repeatedly recognized by bar associations for his pro bono work and has been a member of the State Bar's Pro Bono college for several years.  He also volunteers with Mobile Loaves and Fishes and ARCH, feeding the homeless.   He is also a former member of the University of Houston Law Alumni Board.
