Santa delivers in Friendswood

The “vacant lot” across Friendswood Drive from the Friends Church was anything but vacant on the Saturday before Christmas.
As the day progressed, the lot filled with 1,350 bicycles and scores of gifts.
Later in the day, kids and parents arrived and even Santa Claus.
The “Santa” behind the day was Friendswood Attorney Tony Buzbee.
This was his third annual bike giveaway.
Previous years included 600 and 750 bikes for kids that were connected to the event through about a dozen ministries and outreach organizations all over Houston.
For those kids unable to ride a bike, other gifts were presented.
“We have families out here that have nothing for Christmas,” said Ivan Seahorn, of the City of Refuge Global Outreach Ministries in Southwest Houston. They train kids in non-violence techniques, Seahorn said.
